On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the Yonsei University Center for International Studies (CIS) held the third installment of its CIS Lecture Series, featuring a special lecture by Tarja Jaakkola. The event took place at New Millennium Hall B106.

About the Speaker

Tarja Jaakkola is NATO's Assistant Secretary General for Defence Industry, Innovation and Armaments, leading the division responsible for the rapid development and delivery of cutting-edge, interoperable defence capabilities across the Alliance. Before joining NATO in this role, she served as Director General of the Resource Policy Department in the Finnish Ministry of Defence and as Finnish National Armaments Director, and previously worked at the European Defence Agency in Brussels in various industry, market, and innovation policy roles. She holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Helsinki.
