연세대학교 국제학연구소는 2026년 7월 28일(화), KOICA ODA학술활동지원사업의 일환으로 HDP 넥서스 연구의 제3차 라운드테이블을 개최하였다. 이번 라운드테이블은 중국의 일대일로(BRI)를 HDP 넥서스와 비교하고, 변화하는 국제개발협력 환경에서 한국 ODA의 전략적 방향을 검토하기 위해 마련되었다. 참석자들은 BRI가 대규모 인프라 중심 전략에서 민생 밀착형 소규모 사업, 디지털,그린 분야 중심의 ‘소이미(小而美)’ 전략으로 전환하는 양상을 분석하였다. 아울러 HDP 넥서스가 지향하는 인도주의 원칙, 지역사회 역량 강화, 포용적 거버넌스와 BRI의 차이를 비교하며 한국형 개발협력의 차별화 방안을 논의하였다.

The Third HDP Nexus Roundtable was convened to compare China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) with the HDP Nexus framework and to review the strategic direction of Korean ODA within the shifting landscape of international development cooperation.

Participants analyzed how the BRI is transitioning from a large-scale, infrastructure-oriented strategy toward a "Small and Beautiful (xiao er mei)" strategy that focuses on small-scale projects directly tied to people's livelihoods, as well as digital and green sectors. Furthermore, they discussed ways to differentiate Korea’s model of development cooperation by comparing the BRI with the core tenets of the HDP Nexus, which values humanitarian principles, community empowerment, and inclusive governance.
